UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Care Mobile Driver - Casual/Part Time Hours!!

Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a driver to operate the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Unit.  This driver will performs driving duties and preventative maintenance on the Care Mobile vehicle. The driver will transport the Care Mobile to each site in a safe, professional manner. Assists with cleaning the unit after completion of clinic visits. Works with patients and families to complete registration forms and on-line quick registrations.

This is an excellent opportunity to work casual hours, earn some extra cash and help children and families in need!  


  • Attend annual Hospital and departmental fire/safety and infection control training and maintain current knowledge of safety procedures within the Hospital and department.
  • Perform a walk-around safety inspection every time before operating the vehicle. Perform a visual inspection upon completion of each drive. Report any findings to the Manager.
  • Work with families to complete a paper registration for each patient seen on the Care Mobile
  • Improve and/or support others in improving the health and well being of all children through excellence in patient care, teaching and research.
  • Maintain the Care Mobile mechanically - cleaning, preventative maintenance, minor and emergency repairs, etc.
  • Drive the unit in a safe manner to all Care Mobile sites.
  • Schedule the vehicle out-of-service for preventative maintenance.
  • Maintain vehicles paperwork.
  • Continues education through online, classroom-based, and/or CD courses, in addition to in-house training.
  • Perform cleaning inside vehicle rooms upon completion of clinic visits.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality by communicating information only as appropriate and maintaining privacy of patient registration forms.
  • Assists with control of patient/family flow in and out of the Care Mobile clinic.
  • Enter patient information into EMR using Quick Registration process.



  • Required level of education: High school diploma.
  • Required level of experience: 1 year.
  • Commercial Driver License (CDL) with airbrake certification requiredArea of experience: Driving a moderately-sized commercial vehicle, (40 Foot)
