UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Training Specialist to support the Training Department based out of Pittsburgh at the Harbor Gardens location, with some remote opportunities.
The Training Specialist is responsible for planning, designing, coordinating, and delivering training for the Claims and Provider Services Departments within the UPMC Health Plan.
Responsibilities:
- Delivers training related to MC400/Profound and phone systems. Assists train the trainers as necessary.
- Maintains training calendar and responsibility for securing training rooms.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of electronic education materials for individual self-learning.
- Responsible for maintaining the educational department shared point site, z drive and placement of materials on KIP.
- Assists in the development of new materials by attending process flow meetings or participating in system testing.
- Produces quick tips, memos and other training documentation as required to provide up-to-date information related to system enhancements and modifications.
- Keeps track of annual review for all training materials currently utilized by the department. Assists with facilitating the review and potential revision of these materials.
- Prepares training materials for upcoming sessions. Ensures that an adequate supply of manuals is always on hand. Prepares educational documents related to workflows and enhancements. Ensures that the MC400 training manual is up to date and changes are adequately tracked.
- Responsible for keeping training records for audits, including sign-in rosters and employee participation documentation.
- Makes recommendations to management regarding new program requirements and costs.
- Coordinates all aspects of the training process, including industry research materials development, program delivery, student testing, and assessment.
- Sends out surveys to assess the effectiveness of the training department.
- Maintains a positive classroom environment for staff members, to support the experience, skill, knowledge and capabilities of employees.
- Maintains work activity reports, employee training profiles, and submits reports as required. Responsible for assisting with the completion of the monthly directors’ report.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or other related field preferred
- 2 years of direct experience in Managed Care and / or Indemnity environment with at least 1 year of experience in delivery of staff training programs or related experience.
- Experience in methods and techniques of adult education with demonstrated success.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership skills and independent decision-making abilities.
- Expert process and project management skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is essential.
