UPMC Magee at Hamot is hiring an OB sonographer to join their team! This position will consist of an evening shift of 3pm-11pm or have a variable/flexible schedule. Holidays, weekends, and on-call responsibilities are included in this position's schedule.

OB Sonographer starting rate: $27.44
OB Sonographer Adv. starting rate: $27.77
Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- May be responsible for High Level Disinfection of devices, supplies and/or equipment
- Acts as a resource for OB Sonographers by providing scanning, image, and report assistance
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable while continually communicating with lead and management team.
- Exhibits advanced level of knowledge related to normal anatomy and pathology. Able to recognize pathology and the ability to think critically, assessing the patient results for communication with the physician.
- Perform ultrasonic diagnostic examinations and job duties in accordance with OB Sonographer.
Qualifications
OB Sonographer:
- Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
- Must have completed Physics portion of registry.
- Must obtain RDMS in OB/Gyn Ultrasound within 12 months of hire date.
OB Sonographer Adv:
- Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required, or RDMS registered.
- 2 years of ultrasound experience preferred, 1 year must be as a full time status, at a UPMC facility scanning OB Ultrasound.
- Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review.
- RDMS OB/Gyn registry required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
RDMS OB/Gyn registry required.FMF NT Certification required.CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Act 34
