Research Assistant | Pittsburgh’s Early Attachment & Relationships (PEAR) Project

Description

The University of Pittsburgh’s Early Attachment & Relationships (PEAR) Project fills gaps in the existing early childhood mental health system of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania and expands the availability of evidence based IECMH treatment services. The Project supports children ages birth through five who are at significant risk of developing, or have been diagnosed with, a mental illness as well as their families, to strengthen caregiving relationships. The Research Assistant will assist Primary Investigator and Project Director with coordination of all Project activities, community engagement, and management for University of Pittsburgh Early Attachment & Relationships (PEAR) Project.

This position is grant funded.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and make all arrangements for PEAR Project trainings and Quarterly Oversight Committee meetings.
  • Maintain Group communication, including website and email account for consultation with Oversight Committee.
  • Run/Submit data reports to help: clinicians monitor client progress; Project Director track project goals/objectives and quality assurance; and Lead Evaluator to determine program effectiveness.
  • Generally, assist Project Director with implementation of grant activities. Organize references and materials for research projects and content areas.
  • Maintain professionalism in all interactions with stakeholders and internal staff.
  • Conduct literature searches.
  • Provide support for grant proposal and manuscript development and submission.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings and seminars, both internally and externally.
  • Perform data collection and entry.
  • Assist in data management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, or current enrollment, with some experience in research environment.
  • Experience in the area of public health, psychology, applied research or behavioral health is preferred. 
  • Experience with federal government grants preferred.
  • Experience with early childhood programs preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and the ability to learn various software packages as needed.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
