Description

This position resides on our Statutory Accounting team; where this position would conduct accounting functions related to insurance accounting and reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).  This is a hybrid role, requiring two days in-office per week.



Responsibilities:

  • In addition to accounting and reporting efforts, conduct and document complex financial analysis projects.
  • Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions and events in accordance with SAP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of external financial reporting deliverables, including quarterly/annual statutory filings, audited statutory financial statements, and other ad-hoc report requests.
  • Develop financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
  • Implement financial reporting, systems, and process improvements to ensure best practices amongst GAAP and SAP reporting requirements.
  • Communicate and develop collaborative relationships with various stakeholders including Corporate Tax, Corporate Treasury, Actuary, Legal, Compliance, and External Auditors

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related business field required.
  • OR High School Diploma/GED and two years of related work experience.
  • Microsoft Office spreadsheet application and PeopleSoft General Ledger proficiency preferred.
