UPMC's Sallavanti and Cotter is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. This busy, fast paced office has 2 physicians and 2 advanced practice providers, but the team first atmosphere and family friendly environment make a wonderful office culture to be a part of. The LPN is an essential role in this practice, and someone who provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Hours: Mon – 9:00-6:30pm, Tues – 9:00-6:30pm or 11:45-8:15 PM (Late Rotation), Wed - 9:00-6:30pm, Thurs - 9:00-6:30pm, Fri - 9:00-6:30pm
Sat – 8-12pm (Saturday Rotation)
Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs and weight.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain Labs, draw blood, complete urinalysis or urine drug screens
- Point of care testing
- Pre-authorizations for procedures or medications
- Nurse triage phone calls
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
