UPMC Mercy is hiring a part-time Food Service Host to join our team! This position will work a minimum of 2, 10-hour shifts from 7:30 am-6 pm each week. Rotating holidays and weekends are required. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus: $250 will be paid to you in your first 90 days if you make a 1-year work commitment to UPMC!
Responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction with food service by utilizing customer service skills. Delivers and serves nutritionally appropriate and attractive meals promptly. Practices appropriate food handling techniques and food safety procedures in all aspects of the job.
Responsibilities:
- Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures consistently when interacting with customers.
- Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
- Communicates customer complaints and concerns effectively with other healthcare team members.
- Performs sanitation for the assigned work area by departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
- Serves patient meal trays using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
- Distributes and collects menus from patients; obtains selected menus from patients according to departmental procedures.
- Displays customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.
- Serves meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
Qualifications
Work permit required if under 18 years old.
