UPMC Health Plan is seeking a full-time Product Owner to support the Marketing and Communications Department with Salesforce Marketing Cloud!

The Product Owner will support all components for Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) across UPMC Insurance Services Division lines of business, including data integration, optimizing campaigns, and developing solutions. SFMC is used for prospecting, lead nurturing, and customer acquisition, and is used through the customer life cycle in education and engagement campaigns. Functioning as a digital strategist, this role will ensure proper utilization of all Salesforce Marketing Cloud components from Experience Manager, Content Studios, Datarama, Journey Builder, Advertising Studio, connections to the CRM, and other digital marketing platforms.

  • Collaborating with Marketing stakeholders to build business requirements for the SFMC instance and campaign builds.
  • Ensure full digital marketing utilization of SFMC.
  • Act as a decision-maker and liaison between marketing, IT and/or Salesforce resources to deliver campaign solutions for transactional communications, acquisition marketing, and member engagement marketing.
  • Collaborate with channel experts and channel owners to ensure standards of excellence, robust tracking, and channel readiness are operational at all times.
  • Resolve errors within platform and interfacing with vendor resources and internal support resources.
  • Perform UAT and validate campaign components and configurations of elements within the SFMC instance.
  • Prepare and maintain use cases, user stories, and roadmap for the SFMC instance.
  • Maintain and deliver backlog of continuous improvement uses of the tool.
  • Contribute to digital marketing strategy sessions based on existing and future use cases, and works to operate strategic modalities that beat industry and internal benchmarks for digital KPIs including open rate, click-through rate, cost per lead, and more.
  • Ensure SFMC instance meets all regulatory and data privacy requirements.
  • Advocate for SFMC feature sets and functionalities and be SME on the latest offerings and best practices within the Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, and in partnership with business stakeholders, identify and fill product gaps and support the generation of new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.



  • 3 years of experience working in Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Technology, or similar field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in digital experience platforms and content management systems.
  • Experience in program management and technical implementation is a plus.
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Administration Certificate or Salesforce Marketing Cloud Product Owner Certificate.
  • Additional Salesforce Certificates (from Salesforce Trailhead) preferred.
  • Preferred experience working in Agile.
  • Fluent with Microsoft productivity products (Outlook, PowerPoint, OneDrive).
  • Preferred basic knowledge of HTML, Javascript, SQL, and CSS.
