Description
Purpose:
Facilitates the physician and allied health credentialing, privileging and monitoring process, including application management and primary source verification. Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging database system.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates privileges process including preparation and presentation of requested privileges with validated qualifications to the Medical Staff Credentials Committee.
- Provides office support for the department and the medical staff.
- Ensures the accuracy and integrity of the credentialing and clinical privileging database system.
- Establishes and ensures effective monitoring process of new physicians as prescribed by the departmental bylaws.
- Establishes and tracks data related to Medical Staff recruitment and resignations.
- Make appropriate arrangements for meeting rooms and food services.
- Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures.

- Prepares agendas, attends assigned meetings and authors minutes.
- Participates in developing strategies to improve on the attainment, development and consistency of the credentialing process.
- Leads the Medical Staff Leadership towards the successful completion of all credentialing including primary source verification and other application data validation.
Qualifications
Associates Degree in secretarial science or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Three years of progressively responsible administrative support experience required. Three years of credentialing experience preferred.
