UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Description

Purpose:
The STAT MedEvac Aviation Department Pilot in Command is directly responsible for, and is the final authority over the safe operation of an assigned aircraft on a CEM released flight. The Pilot in Command will assure all flight activities adhere to the Federal Aviation Regulations as well as CEM policy and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with flight follower with regard to duty time, aircraft and weather status.
  • Ensure aircraft is in airworthy condition.
  • Conduct on demand flights in a manner that the safe completion is never in doubt.
  • Maintain a current flight kit with the aircraft that is appropriate for flight accepted.

 

Qualifications

  • FAA Instrument rating-rotorcraft.
  • Thorough knowledge of Part 135 Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Two year degree or equivalent experience.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Commercial Pilot License (CPL)
  • Act 34
