UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. Lead CT Technologist

Are you an experienced CT tech looking to utilize your leadership skills? UPMC Magee Womens-Hospital is hiring a full-time Lead CT Tech to be their supervisors right hand in day to day operations. This position will be primarily Monday through Friday with daylight hours. There will be limited weekend and holiday hours.

Purpose:
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, coordinates workflow, assists with projects and coordinates educational activities. Functions as a working technologist and distributes workload to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of advanced technologists and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
  • Performs all responsibilities of CT Tech I and Advanced CT Tech II.
  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame. Responsible for offering remediation with technologists when necessary.
  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
  • Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program.
  • CT Specialty Boards Completed.
  • 3 years CT experience required.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • ARRT certified as a CT Technologist.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Act 34
