The Phillips Center for Research in Translational and Developmental Affective Neuroscience at WPH Department of Psychiatry is looking to add a Research Associate Senior to our group. Led by Dr. Phillips, our lab is comprised of a talented group of psychiatry faculty, postdoctoral associates, students, and staff, all dedicated to better understanding the neural circuitry underlying mood and anxiety disorders using multimodal imaging techniques. The Research Associate Senior WPIC would be responsible for recruitment of participants with Bipolar Disorder for enrollment in several studies involving fMRI and assist the study coordinator with longitudinal clinical assessments.
This new staff member is needed to assist with recruitment activities primarily involving participants with Bipolar Disorder. The staff will work closely with Study Coordinators to enroll participants in multiple studies based on interest and eligibility. This staff member will also be trained to complete longitudinal clinical assessments including administration of the SCID5 at 6 month intervals.
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, collecting data from subjects, assist with preparation of scientific articles, assist with data analysis, assist with IRB and grant submissions as needed.
- Mentor, train, and assist with supervising junior research staff.
- Independently track and screen interested contacts to assess for eligibility across multiple lab studies involving fMRI.
- Generate recruitment interest and resources across local campuses and mental health practices.
- Timely completion of phone screens for contacts generated by Pitt+Me and BuildClinical recruitment resources.
- Timely scheduling and completion of longitudinal follow-ups.
- Assist study coordinators with longitudinal follow-up including administration of clinical symptomatology assessments and SCID-5 semi-structured diagnostic assessments at 6-month intervals.
Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field and 1 year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, Sociology or related research field and 3 years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting.
- Strongly prefer prior experience with human subject research recruitment activities, knowledge of Bipolar Disorder and DSM-5, prior experience with SCID5 or SCID-IV administration.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
