Description
Purpose:
Cares for, handles and reprocesses all fiber optic endoscopy equipment and accessories used in the GI Laboratory.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate accurate cleaning and disinfection procedures for all endoscopes and accessories.
- Adhere to universal infection control guidelines when cleaning and disinfecting scopes and accessories.
- Contribute to an efficient work and team environment.
- Assume responsibility for own development.
- Maintain unit standards of quality control and safety.
- Demonstrate proper handling techniques for scopes and accessories.
- Contribute to maintaining a neat, clean and safe environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.Previous employment or training as an Endoscopy Technician or other medical specialty such as Central Service Technician preferred.
