UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Coordinator, MWRI Operations to support the Research Operations department!
Our department is the largest research institute in the U.S. dedicated to women’s health and reproductive biology. From woman-controlled HIV protection to therapies that could prevent the recurrence of ovarian cancer, we are impacting lives every day.
This position will work Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
The Operations Coordinator is responsible for assisting the MWRI Operations Team in the management of day to day operations associated with the MWRI as it relates to the physical plant, waste management, cleaning, add/moves/changes of personnel, oversight of special deliveries and pick-ups, access management for our facilities, and acts as a key liaison for the Operations Team with MWH Facilities, MWRI Purchasing, MWH Loading Dock, MWH Safety and Security, UPMC, the University of Pittsburgh, vendors and contractors.
Responsibilities:
- Act as central resource for MWRI personnel to address building maintenance and physical plant needs. This includes the review, submission and monitoring of work orders to MWH Facilities or other UPMC or University of Pittsburgh business units.
- Monitors the budget for the department; monitors ongoing expenses, follows up and corrects discrepancies and ensures budge goals are met.
- Key point of contact for contractors and selects vendors.
- Participate in key accreditation committees related to MWRI Operations, including but not limited to annual lab reviews, AAALAC and IACUC.
- Coordinate all add/moves/changes of personnel within the building.
- Ensure space management plan for the MWRI facilities is current and up to date.
- Manage access to MWRI facilities/locations. Authorizes building access including issuing of keys and badges.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or four years of equivalent experience in Research or Health Care environment.
- Bachelors Degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of operations experience in a research environment preferred.
- This position may require physical demands, including the ability to lift 50lbs.
- Prior laboratory experience, including the ability to operate scientific equipment, highly preferred
