UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Part Time Research Technician Clinical Research to support the Krans Lab!
This position will work Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. This position offers hybrid work options! Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
This position is grant funded.
The Krans Lab conducts health services research with pregnant women diagnosed with substance use disorders. Pregnant women with substance use disorders often face profound social, economic and physical challenges which require a multi-faceted approach to healthcare delivery. Our work focuses on developing interventions that account for these complexities and capitalize on the inherent desire during pregnancy to improve health-related behaviors.
Under supervision, the Research Tech Clinical Research is responsible for accurately performing research projects according to established study design and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe clean laboratory-working environment including appropriate equipment maintenance and usage, by conforming to laboratory and Hospital policies and standards.
- Administer questionnaires and assist with procedures for obtaining patient screening and recruitment as well as obtaining research specimens.
- Assist in performing research protocol experimental procedures, under close supervision, including appropriate collection, recording, storage and analysis of data.
- Assist in obtaining educational resources necessary to perform and interpret research and to remain abreast in research area of function.
- Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of college training or one year of experience working within a biomedical research laboratory environment.
