University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Project Specialist to support their team.
This position will work Monday through Friday daylight hours (9am-5pm). This position will be a hybrid work arrangement model whereby the employee works remotely on specified days and in the office at 3600 Forbes Avenue, Iroquois Building, Suite 300 on specified days (currently Tuesday each week).
The UPMC Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences (CCHES) is accredited by the by the Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE) to support the continuing education of health care professionals. The CCEHS learning management system is used to register, track, and manage continuing education credits for healthcare professionals both internal and external to UPMC.
Responsibilities:

- Provides training and ongoing support to over 500 UPMC administrative contacts to utilize the CCEHS learning management system.
- Supports key functions of the CCEHS learning portal (i.e., interface, reporting, registration, evaluation, etc.) and technical support (i.e., working with vendor on issues).
- Responds to support requests from internal and external users of the UPMC CCEHS learning management system.
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships between Project Specialist and department administrators, site administrators, practice manager, and other users.
- Populate existing data fields; oversee design of new data fields as needed.
- Oversee all aspects of Physician Services Division Clinical sites database, including data updating, utilization, reporting.
- Initiate relationships with other business units to maximize effectiveness of database.
- Serve as liaison between Senior Physician Services Division Management, departmental and ISD representative, database developers.
- Respond to business/reporting requests by Senior Management Staff, clinical departments and practices.
- Serve as a liaison between the Physician Services Senior Management staff and key client users as required.
Qualifications
- B.A degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field and 2 years of experience preferably in a health care setting.
- OR Associate's Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field and 4 years of experience preferably in a health care setting.
- Knowledgeable in the organization and function of an academic medical center this would include clinical and physician's office practices.
- Familiarity with oracle database function and capabilities is preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook is preferred.
- Exhibit good listening and comprehension skills. Complete work assignments with minimal supervision.
- Present effective interpersonal skills in dealing with executive leadership, clinical department administrators, managers, etc.
- Ability to take the initiative to investigate and resolve problems using sound judgment.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding job assignment and sensitive issues, perform assigned work in allotted time.
- Identify issues before they develop into major concerns and demonstrate analytical skills.
- Willing to work overtime if necessary.
