Description
Responsible for transporting clients, families and staff in accordance with UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital policies and procedures, compliance plan, county and state regulations. Coordinate daily contract pickups and deliveries as scheduled.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for handling postage checks and paperwork at post office when necessary.
- Maintain status of acceptable driver as per policy which includes and is not limited to a current PA driver?s license, a clean driving record, and safe driving habits.
- Responsible for the recording daily of trips, mileage, gas/oil, and recording complete and accurate records to submit to the front office. Check daily with supervisors and assigned program staff regarding consumers reporting off and on. Report all schedule changes to supervisor.
- Responsible for handling postage checks and paperwork at post office when necessary.
- Responsible for the transporting of clients, families and staff as scheduled in a safe and timely manner
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive working relationship with staff, clients and their families.
- Responsible for following and supporting all passengers with compliance of all Department of Public Welfare Child Care Center Transportation policies and procedures (see codes 3270.170 -180)
- Responsible for the loading, unloading, pickups and deliveries of bulk mail and supplies to designated facility.
- Responsible for following all UPMC policies and procedures for transporting passengers
- Assist team by completing administrative functions as needed during contract downtime and/or between contract delivery times
- Attend all assigned staff and individual supervision meetings.
- Responsible for coordinating daily contract pickups and deliveries and communicating with Supervisor and community contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
- Responsible for following all UPMC policies and procedures for transporting passengers
- Responsible for communicating and documenting all pertinent consumer information with Supervisors and assigned Program Staff following policies and procedures
- Complete all required State, County, Agency, Accreditation and Licensing compliance trainings annually.
- Responsible for the loading, unloading, pickups and deliveries of bulk mail and supplies to designated facility.
- Responsible for collaborating with Supervisor and assigned program staff to schedule program participants as van assistants, keeping accurate data on consumer work hours.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience preferred with van driving experience transporting patients/clients.
- Provide evidence of good driving record.
- Must possess good oral and written skills.
- Must be able to communicate with contacts both on the telephone and directly.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all age groups, populations and individuals.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
