UPMC Neurosciences Institute is looking for a part time Licensed Practical Nurse to join their busy 10 provider practice. This is everyone's dream job; no need to work Mondays!! The Neuroscience Institute desires a LPN with previous authorization experience and/or previous LPN experience.
Hours: Tuesday-Friday 8am-4:30pm. Every Monday off! No weekends. No on-call. No Holidays!
The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Responsibilities:
- Top duty is to maintain Botox program
- Mix Botox medication
- Schedule appointments
- Obtain authorizations for Botox
- Responsible for assisting to schedule hospital follow up appointments
- Rooming patients as needed
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- 1 year clinical experience preferred.
- Previous LPN and/or authorization experience highly desired
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
