UPMC's Women's First specialty office is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. This is a friendly, upbeat, and busy office that truly works together as a team. You will have a fantastic work/life balance with this schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, no late evenings, no weekends, and no holidays. The LPN will be a valued member of our team and provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm
Responsibilities:
- Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs and weight
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Obtain authorizations for IUD's or Nexplanon implant,
- Physician inbox requests, prescription refill requests, and/or
- Phone triage at times, schedule patient as needed
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One-year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
