UPMC Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers are hiring a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their outpatient practice in Butler, PA! In this position, you will work four 9.5-hour shifts, Monday-Friday from 7:00am-5:00pm with one steady day off throughout the week after the 12-week orientation period. No evenings, weekends, or holidays required! Regular travel will be required to other office locations, primarily in Butler and Slippery Rock. Mileage is provided.
This position will mainly work with our Spine Team but will also help to cover other services such as total joints and hand/upper extremity. Responsibilities include rooming patients, reviewing patients' past medical history/allergies/medications, drawing up injections, completing surgical packets, suture/staple removal, casting/splinting, discharging patients, ordering diagnostic testing/physical therapy, and assisting APP’s with patient phone calls. This position will also cross train to help cover office and fluoro hours for our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation department.

Responsibilities:
- Draw blood.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Assists provider in back office clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs and complete patient history, performs basic triage and assists with minor in office procedures to include applying and removing dressings. Instruct patients
- Assists team in answering phone messages with clear and concise information, obtain authorizations and schedule testing as needed.
- Performs a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, casts and splints, distributing and applying durable medical equipment.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
