Matilda Theiss CSBBH “Cool Zone” Program has 5 different school teams, supporting up to 40 students per school in grades K-5th. We provide behavioral support at school, home, and community settings, individual & family therapy, service coordination, and referrals. The hire for this position will support the United at Twin Rivers Elementary School, located on Cornell Street in McKeesport PA.
The hire for this position must have one year of behavioral health-related work experience, ideally with elementary-aged kids. Prior experience in behavior modification skills is a plus. Must have reliable transportation and be willing to be part of an on-call rotation for crisis support. The dress code for this position is business casual. The schedule for this position will be mostly daylight hours, Monday through Friday, 830a-5p. Some evenings and on-call hours will apply.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of behavioral and functional assessments of the patients.
- Monitor daily progress notes, data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned patients. This includes but is not limited to educational, behavioral and skills development programs as well as research protocols.
- Assess and monitor skills development programming (cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, expressive, social skills, process) for the patients.
- Provide clinical direction and feedback to the mental health worker associates
- Promote professional rapport with co-workers, patients, and visitors to the Institute.
- Coordinate the data management involved in program evaluation and report these findings to other clinical community members.
- Engage in treatment planning for assigned patients.
- In cooperation with the team, develop, assess, facilitate and monitor group activities for the patients.
- Attend treatment team meetings and provide direct clinical feedback on progress.
- Work effectively and cooperatively in a trans-disciplinary environment, served by the supervision of several senior staff.
- Assist in monitoring patient satisfaction (teachers, parents, child, outside agency.
- Document clinical and non-clinical interactions through progress notes.
- Responsible for case management and service coordination needs of families.
- Monitor consumer satisfaction (i.e. teachers, parents, child, outside agency personnel).
- Provide professional development and consultation to schools and families.
- Implement non-physical crisis intervention support and linkages to the school and families.
- Monitor daily progress notes charted for each student.
- Plan and implement individual, group, classroom and family therapies in the home, school and community settings as therapeutically appropriate.
- Monitor daily data collection, summarization, and graphing for assigned students. This includes educational, behavioral, and skills interventions.
- Coordinate the data management involved in progress evaluation and report to clinical staff through daily check-in/check-out and monthly treatment plan reviews with families.
- Provide weekly positive communication to families on students progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field.
- One year of experience in a setting that closely relates to the program.
- Multiple sources of evidence that illustrates effective practice that closely relates to the program.
- A Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Three years of experience in a setting that closely relates to the program.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
