UPMC Specialty Care Gastroenterology Associates of Hanover is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. This is a busy and growing Gastro practice, currently with 6 providers. The team you will join is welcoming, seasoned, and professional, with a big focus on functioning together as a team. The LPN will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, occasional overtime available. NO EVENINGS, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS!
Responsibilities:
- Check patients in and out
- Assess patient's general condition, take vital signs & weight
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments
- Complete patient in-baskets i.e. medication refills, medication authorizations
- Triage patient phone calls (Clinical in nature)
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions
- Complete other clinical duties as assigned
- Draw blood
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required
- New LPN Graduates welcome to apply
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
