Description
The UPMC Western Wellness – Greentree office provides short-term outpatient therapy services for children and adolescents. This position will be the main point of contact for new referrals, conduct initial patient screening, collaborate with clinical leadership, and schedule new patient appointments.
Act as the first contact with families/guardians coming to the Child Development Unit and the Child and Family Counseling Center. Responsible for gathering information about the presenting concerns and determining the appropriate appointment.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in a pediatric or behavioral health setting. Should be organized and have strong customer service skills. The dress code is business casual and parking is free on-site. The schedule will be daylight hours, with the opportunity for remote work options after the orientation period.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties and responsibilities in a fashion that coincides with the service philosophy of UPPMC, including the demonstration of The Basics of Service Excellence towards patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians and others within UPPMC and UPMC.
- Screen for the presence of priority concerns/symptoms (e.g. suicidal thoughts, regression of skills, child abuse) and takes appropriate action, as applicable.
- Review intake data to make clinical judgments for scheduling according to provider and visit type.
- Apply clinical skills to gather phone information from callers presenting the chief presenting concerns.
- Prioritize tasks to maximize patient access by answering phones and utilizing available slots in an efficient manner.
- Maintain database of intake information; access and analyze data to provide critical information to department.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Health/Mental Health, Human Services or an equivalent level of experience.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
