UPMC Mercy is searching for a full-time Food Services Team Leader to support our Dietary Department! This role will work primarily 10am-6:30pm and 12:30pm-9pm shifts, overseeing our patient food services area staff. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. This shift time is eligible to receive $1.10 more per hour with our off-shift differential pay! This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus:
$500 will be paid out to you in one installment within your first 90 days if you make a 1-year commitment to UPMC!
The Team Leader supports the Food Service Supervisor in all aspects of the daily operation, with emphasis on the training and development of food service associates.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise hourly associates and their adherence to all UPMC policies and procedures and department standards and guidelines.
- Oversee security of inventory and cash revenues.
- Orient, train, and coach new team members as per department guidelines.
- Monitor all aspects of the department's food safety program routinely and take immediate and appropriate action to identify hazards.
- Supervise services according to department standards and complete quality control and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Perform routine competency checks on associate performance with appropriate follow-through.
- Conduct and document service recovery on all customer complaints as per operational guidelines.
- Monitor food quantity and quality to ensure appropriate product is available for meal service according to the menu and special requests.
- Monitor all aspects of the operation's sanitation program daily to ensure inspection readiness at all times.
Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED preferred
- 2 years relevant experience required
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Obtain Servsafe or Professional Food Safety Manager Certification within 6 months of hire date.
