UPMC Jameson is seeking a regular Full-Time Sonographer to join their team of life-changers! This position will work varied day shifts between the hours of 6:00AM to 5:00PM. Rotating weekends, holidays and on-call shifts would be required. Candidates with RVT or Vascular experience or are cross train motivated are encouraged to apply.
- Sonographer salaries starts at $23.77/hour
- Sonographer Advanced salaries starts at $29.17/hr!
Qualified applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title & salary based on their experience and education.
This position is also eligible for a sign-on bonus! Sign-On Bonus Details:
$6,000 sign-on bonus available

Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Exhibits advanced level of knowledge related to normal anatomy and pathology. Able to recognize pathology and the ability to think critically, assessing the patient results for communication with the physician.
- Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
- Performs all job responsibilities of Level I Sonographer.
- Assist with the training of staff and student sonographers.
- Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
- Conveys results to patients and ordering clinicians where appropriate and when given permission by attending physician.
- Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
- Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
Qualifications
Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience, and manager discretion at time of offer.
Sonographer:
Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
RDMS registered or registry eligible preferred.
Completion of Physics portion of registry preferred.
Must obtain RDMS within 12 months of hire date.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Sonographer Adv:
Completion of formal training in an Ultrasound program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required. 2 years of ultrasound experience required. Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
RDMS Registered CPR or BLS Preferred CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
