Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse looking for a position that will provide a great work/life balance and room to grow your career? Look no further! UPMC's Hershey Primary Care is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. The LPN will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers. If you are patient focused, organized, have a good work ethic, and are accountable, this position is for you! In this role, you will work at the top of your nursing license, which is great for nurses looking to expand or continue to use your skills or learn new things but work in an office, so you have the benefit of a great work/life balance.
HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, will need to be flexible as practice may open before 8am at times or need to stay later than 5pm at times for patients to finish up.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients, assess patient's general condition, take vital signs, weight, verification of medical history and medications.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Give injections and vaccinations.
- Complete blood draws as ordered by physician (phlebotomy)
- Complete wellness visits, prior authorizations
- Taking triage phone calls for all age ranges
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip as needed
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One-year clinical experience preferred, but not required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
