Must be licensed as a LCPC or LCSW-C by the State of Maryland.
As the Manager, Clinical Care services, you will be responsible for managerial oversight, clinical care, supervision, staffing, and daily operations or UPMC Western Maryland's Behavioral Health service line.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in management meetings and service committees as assigned by supervisor.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Receives feedback and direction constructively.
- Serves as a formal and informal mentor for new students and staff.
- Participates in department-based performance improvement projects.
- Improves knowledge, skills and performance based on feedback or on self-identified developmental needs.
- Demonstrates a high level of initiative, works independently, and establishes priorities to meet department and organizational goals.
- Establishes appropriate and effective communication strategies.
- Establishes and maintains professional and respectful interpersonal relationships.
- Actively participates on intra- and interdisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Demonstrates awareness of the impact of his/her behavior on the efficient functioning of the department and organization.
- Willing to take the leading role in both division specific as well as major hospital-wide projects and part of leadership group.
- Assumes responsibility for complex assignments and views problems as challenges.
- Applies creative and innovative strategies in problem-solving to achieve desired goals.
- Coordinates, plans, develops, and implements managerial procedures.
- Manages day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
- Ensure continuity of care between levels of care.
- Provides supervision and oversight of managers in the department.
- Provides communication and outreach with other behavioral health and medical providers in UPMC and the geographic region.
- Provides clinical oversight and decision-making.
- Provides direct care when needed.
- Assists in teaching staff/students and instructor's role/limits on how to manage the care of patients including assessment, interdisciplinary planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care, teaching and discharge planning while observing.
- Provides clinical supervision of staff and managers.
- Provides oversight and ongoing monitoring of retention and recruitment initiatives and outcome measures.
- Encouraging students/staff in the pursuit of education.
Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Human Services related field required.
- Demonstrated competence in professional psychiatric practice (at least 4 years clinical experience)
- Prior Management experience preferred
