Purpose:
The Senior Solution Architect position requires a high degree of technical expertise in at least 2 relevant domains such as software development, testing, security, cloud, integrations, Healthcare IT or similar. As a Senior Solution Architect, you will be challenged with aligning the technology strategy with the business strategy of multiple projects and/or department initiatives. You will lead the creation of best practices, policies, procedures, and other applicable technical documentation. You will lead various POC efforts. You will help hire, mentor, and evaluate Junior Solution Architects. Senior Solution Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across a Solution Train to help ensure the system or solution under development is fit for its intended purpose. You will play a critical role in the Enterprise Solution Delivery (ESD) core competency by aligning the many solution builders across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Suppliers to a shared technical direction. Responsibilities:
- Complexity of Work - Establishes the strategic technical direction of the sub-function. Drives the design, development, enhancement, and implementation of all technology domains within a given sub-function. Evaluates new technologies for use in support of sub-functions goals. Leads POC delivery, design and evolve the technical solution, manage non-technical requirements and compliance. Maintain the architectural runway, and define and prioritize enablers and enable continuous delivery
- Strategy & Innovation - Establishes current and long-range direction of technology within the sub-function aimed at keeping the organization on the forefront of change. Collaborating and orchestrating across sub-functions. Collaborating and orchestrating across customers, partners, and internal engineering teams. Research current and emerging technologies and proposes changes where needed. Mentor others within department. Identifies Problem Areas and High-Risk Areas in Software Solutions and Recommends Resolutions
- Knowledge & Skill - Require 10 years of software engineering and/or technical architecture related experience, capable of leading and mentoring a team of individual contributors, holds deep technical mastery and business knowledge across at least 2 relevant domains - APIs, UI, Security, Cloud, Mobile, DevOps etc, ability to apply extensive experience to highly complex problems, and strong understanding of IT strategy and how it relates to business objectives
- Scope of Influence - Design and integration of all technology domains related to a sub-function. Builds, maintains, and utilizes a network of experts inside and outside the organization, Initiates contacts with key technologists and other subject matter experts and is a key contact point for others to initiate communications with, and valuates quality work of Architects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field with 10 years of relevant work experience OR 14 years total relevant work experience.
- Holds deep technical mastery and business knowledge across multiple technology domains.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to combine broad technical, business, clinical and political factors.
- Has a broad background implementing different architectures to meet differing needs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and possesses good presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to direct the implementation of diverse technologies in a complex organization.
- Diplomacy and interpersonal skills to lead others to provide inputs for the purpose of sharing with customers, partners, and higher management on vision and need for key technologies.
- Demonstrated experiences innovating beyond the state of the art.
- Maximizing technical efficiency and setting technical direction.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE:
- Maximizing technical efficiency and setting technical direction.
- Experience in software development and coding in various languages (C#, .NET, Java etc.)
- Clearly communicates tradeoffs, strategy, and complexity mitigation.
- Able to pair with members of the development team to accelerate POC development, to resolve a complex technical challenge or to design and implement a new set of architectural standards.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Healthcare IT experience preferred.
- Holds and maintains relevant certification(s) - AWS/Azure Solution Architect/Engineer/Practitioner, FHIR, SCRUM etc. is a plus
- Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
- Strong expertise in DevOps and CI/CD and scrum and SAFe.
- Experience with container technologies is a plus.
- Understanding of microservice design and architectural pattern
