Are you an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for a better work/life balance in the Lebanon, PA area? UPMC has a great position just for you! UPMC's Urology of Central PA is looking to add a Lead Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. This is a smaller, but growing, Urology office with a friendly team, 1 physician, and 1 advanced practice provider. The Lead LPN is an essential member of the team and will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.
HOURS: Monday-Thursday 7:30am-5pm, Friday 7:30am-4pm. No Late Evenings, No weekends, No holidays
Responsibilities:
- Assess patient's general condition, takes vital signs, weight, and verify prescription medications.
- Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.
- Assign clinic staff to support the physicians and APPs on a daily basis.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed and prescribed, etc., in the medical record
- Train and mentors LPNs & MAs.
- Work with the clinical manager on resolution of clinic issues.
- Provide input for hiring decisions as requested by practice manager
- Ensure proper staffing of the clinic in coordination of the practice manager
- Represent the concerns/issues of the clinic flow staff.
- Provide input for LPN/MA performance review and conducts review in conjunction with the clinical coordinator.
- Order all clinical supplies.
- Maintain Strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM under the direction of an RN as needed
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- Minimum of 3 years clinical experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability.
- Must be able to perform all duties of a Licensed Practical Nurse in the unit.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of department and system-wide policies and procedures in order to function as a resource to others.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 34 with renewal
