Description
UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time Research Project Assistant to support research efforts within the UPMC Center for High-Value Health Care. They will assist with participant enrollment and retention, data collection, and other study-related activities.
This will be a Monday through Friday daylight role. This position will involve travel throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania to hospital locations. This role will include flexibility to perform office-based work either remotely or in our downtown Pittsburgh office when not travelling. Must be able to work independently and execute job functions for research protocol(s). They will share responsibility of the day-to-day activities for the research project and handle project-specific tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Handle both administrative and research job duties as needed for research protocol(s) including contacting participants, survey administration, and assisting with scheduling, SharePoint, and file organization.
- Handle special projects for research protocol(s) such as the provision of technical assistance to study participants.
- Collaborate in all recruitment activities of research subjects including accessing multiple electronic record systems to screen for potential study participants and ensuring successful recruitment and retention of study participants. Share responsibility of the day-to-day activities for the research project.
- Assist the Project Manager in coordinating flow of participants through the project, including screening, tracking contacts and attendance, and maintaining current information on how to contact participants, etc.
- Assist in the successful fulfillment of participant payments.
- Assists with process improvements.
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in psychology, social work, sociology or related research field.
- Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.
- Prior supervisory and/or project management experience preferred.
