UPMC Endocrinology Associates is looking to add a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to their team. This position will travel to Harrisburg for training and then work in York office full-time. This is not your typical LPN position in the office, you will have little patient interaction. This LPN will be doing mostly desk and computer work. The LPN provides professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Processes medication refills and medication authorizations

  • Complete radiology authorizations

  • Complete nurse visits for office

  • Chart prep

  • Handle patient triage calls and requests

  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.

 

  • Room patients on occasion to help some of the other clinical staff
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments at times
  • Assess patient's general condition, take vital signs and weight at times
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.

 

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
  • One-year clinical experience preferred.
  • New graduates welcome to apply.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
