Purpose:
Do you have experience with Care Management processes? Are you looking to share your knowledge with others? UPMC is looking to hire a full-time Care Management Training Specialist. This role would work Monday through Friday, typically during daylight hours. This role is eligible to work from home, however local and long-distance travel is required as needed for training at UPMC facilities.
The Care Management Training Specialist assess UPMC Care Management staff training needs, schedules/plans/delivers training classes, and maintains records of training activities for system-wide Care Management staff. They also coordinate and support Care Management information systems, processes, and procedures, and they assure that all processes and training are compliant with regulatory and JCAHO requirements. Additionally, the Training Specialist assists in the facilitation of all information system changes and enhancements, develops appropriate training material content, and assists in the technical component of the training program, while also responding to procedural questions and providing high level of technical and general support to the end user.
Responsibilities:
- Assures quality of information of technology solutions through application-level testing and validates testing results.
- Performs assessment of Care Management staff and implements appropriate training and development plan of action when indicated.
- Actively participates in meetings related to development and enhancement of Care Management technology.
- Provides on-site support of care management staff as appropriate based on identified learning needs.
- Schedules, implements, and delivers training class for UPMC Care Management staff to reflect Care Management processes.
- Support the vision of the UPMC Corporate Care Management in providing outstanding support, education, training, and development.
- Acts as liaison between end user and internal ISD departments/outside vendors.
- Collaborates with Care Management, ISD, Patient Access, and other departments to ensure training material is compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Designs end user level procedures to support Care Management technology.
- Creates user manuals, education materials, and resource guides for all new or updated system functions.
- Measures/documents training results and maintains records of training activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Science and an active PA RN License OR Master's of Social Work Degree (LSW) OR Clinical Social Worker (CSW).
- Three (3) years' experience in a health care related field.
- Previous care management experience including: Utilization Management, Care Management, or Social Work.
- Understanding of clinical and Care Management processes.
- Knowledge of medical necessity criteria.
- Experience with Training and Development processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Critical thinking skills.
- Organization/time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and PowerPoint.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Clinical Social Worker (CSW) OR Licensed Social Worker (LSW) OR Registered Nurse (RN)
