UPMC complies with all governmental requirements related to local, state, and federal COVID-19 vaccination for employment. The Jan. 13 Supreme Court of the United States decision that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services federal COVID-19 vaccine mandate will move forward requires UPMC to ensure employees either get vaccinated or receive a requested medical or religious exemption.

Surgical Scheduling Coordinator - UPMC East

Description

UPMC East is currently seeking an organized and detail-minded individual to fill a Scheduling Coordinator role.  This position will be scheduled for a daylight shift (8:30 am to 5:00 pm), Monday thru Friday. 

Candidates will be placed into the appropriate job title/salary grade based on experience and education.

Purpose:
Schedules all surgical procedures for the surgical services department (excluding the GI Lab).

Responsibilities:

  • Make corrections from previous day in software.
  • Print schedule and distribute to appropriate departments.
  • Maintain daily communication with OR Unit Director.
  • Choose and print appropriate preference cards for daily procedures.
  • Communicate changes in schedule with appropriate department.
  • Ensure accurate organization of surgical schedule.
  • Communicate with physician offices related to scheduling process.
  • Maintain block scheduling as appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's degree in Secretarial Science or Business or equivalent experience preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Act 34
