UPMC Wellsboro is hiring summer Recreation Aides for various locations in Tioga County including Lawrenceville, Elkland, Knoxville, and Westfield. The program runs from June 5 - August 11. You will work Monday - Friday, approximately 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Reliable transportation is required.

Purpose:
Provide structured, age-appropriate health and nutrition education and activities for youth in several locations throughout Tioga County during the summer months.
Responsibilities:
- Lead discussions on good decision-making; model behavior
- Plan weekly programs (themes); secure necessary materials and equipment
- Prepare and submit monthly program reports
- Lead participants in creating healthy snack options to sample and take home
- Intervene appropriately in situations that arise among program participants.
- Access any injuries that may occur and create a plan of care for minor injuries
- Assist Summer Feeding staff with distribution of meals at program sites
- Know and follow all organizational/departmental policies/procedures
- Maintain attendance records of participants
- Incorporate leading/evidence-based practice in quality/safety into everyday work. Commit to high quality, safe work; encourage others to have similar standards. Identify processes/systems that could lead to inefficient practices, unsafe conditions, errors or adverse events. Avoid shortcuts to ensure quality and safety measures are not circumvented. Speak up with other service partners to ensure high quality and safety. Report serious events/incidents per policy.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent Required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Valid driver's license required
