Purpose:
In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, provides technical expertise to multiple business units. Functions as a resource to staff to provide orientation, continuing education and protocol development.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for technologist quality assurance program and the reviewing and updating of protocols alongside of or in place of the lead technologists. Assumes leadership role in educating staff on new equipment.
- Performs all responsibilities of Level II Advanced PET tech.
- Leads education on new techniques and protocols for research studies and collaborates with radiologists and researchers where applicable to identify new techniques and problem solving resolutions.
- Serves as a clinical resource to technologists on a daily operational basis. Assist technologists with continuing education needs and participates as a peer delegate in staff annual performance reviews.
- Assist with accreditation responsibilities.
- Attends advanced training sessions and seminars in order to maintain industry standards in imaging techniques and disseminates information to imaging departmental leadership and as a part of new hire orientation.
- Implements new training programs, where applicable, and assists with the startup of new off ite locations. Responsibilities for new locations include, but are not limited to, working on reporting systems, obtaining appropriate images and effectively communicating with attending physicians as well as co-workers and patients.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology Program required.
- 3 Years nuclear medicine experience required.
- Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
- ARRT(N) or CNMT required.
- PET registry required.
- CPR or BLS Required.
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
- ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
