Our team is growing and we have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Credentialing Coordinator! This role is Monday through Friday daylight, with a hybrid schedule (combination of in-office and work-from-home) reporting to our Shadyside campus 1-2 days per week.
The Credentialing Coordinator processes applications to medical staff offices & CVO to the facilities and organizations of UPMC as well as non-UPMC facilities. Process applications for reappointment and re-credentialing for practitioners who are members of the facilities and organizations of UPMC. In this role, you will maintain a current and accurate database of credentialing information including dates for reappointments & licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Notify hospitals and insurance companies of changes in practice information. Provide reminders to office managers when specific documents will be expiring.
- Records information received and provide follow-up as necessary according to established policies and procedures. Completes files efficiently, according to policy and within the established standards and guidelines.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to provider personal data. Perform duties and responsibilities in a positive manner that upholds the management philosophy, policies and procedures of UPMC CancerCenter.
- Assist with database integrity and maintenance. Maintains excellent communication (verbal, written and electronic) with all customers including, but not limited to, the practitioners, practice managers & administration.
- Maintain and update current documentation for providers including, but not limited to medical licenses, DEA certificates, malpractice insurance, CV, board certifications, PPD testing, photographs, reference letters, collaborative agreements & supervisory agreements.
- Processes applications expeditiously and efficiently according to the established priorities and timeframes.Performs data entry and scans accurately and efficiently according to established policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate with the Supervisor to achieve improvements within the department.
- Prepare, maintain and update applications for insurance and hospital enrollment and re-enrollment. Facilitate malpractice insurance enrollment process.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior credentialing experience preferred.
- Strong organizational skills are highly preferred.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication skills, ability to manage and prioritize large projects and meet scheduled timelines and deadlines.
- Ability to effectively problem solve and make independent decisions.
- Experience with both TJC and NCQA standards preferred.
