Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for a better work/life balance? UPMC Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their team. We have 14 providers and they each see 20-30 patients a day. We are an office that likes to have fun, along with working hard, and are just a much a family as our families outside of the office. We look forward to adding someone new to our family to take care of our patients. We also do more than just gynecology and obstetrics. We also dabble in genetic cancer screening, fertility, addiction medicine, and more. Someone who comes to join our team will get experience in multiple realms to expand their scope of practice in an environment that enjoys coaching and growing their employees.
*You may have some local travel (all offices 30 minutes or less from main office in Hanover) to our other OBGYN offices depending on the provider you are paired with; this will be discussed more in the interview.
HOURS: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm, NO WEEKENDS, NO HOLIDAYS, NO ON-CALL
Responsibilities:
- Patient phone calls, triage, nurse list where the clinician works on their own with physician oversight as needed.
- Room patient, assess patient's general condition, obtain vital signs and weight, review medication/medical history.
- Assist physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Give medication injections.
- Draw blood as ordered by provider.
- Patient phone calls and phone triage
- Obtain prescription refills and handle pharmacy calls
- Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
- Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice and instructions.
- Help with Clinician nurses' visits.
- Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
- Administer medications including oral, SQ, and IV drip.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
- Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing.
- One year clinical experience preferred, but not required
- New graduates welcome to apply!
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
Clearances must be dated within 90 days
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
