Description
The BITE lab (Behavioral Investigations of children’s and Teens’ Eating) conducts observational and experimental studies on eating- and weight-related problems in children and adolescents. Current studies focus on neurocognitive mechanisms underlying dysregulated eating behaviors such as binge and loss of control eating and disseminating evidence-based treatments for adolescents with restrictive eating. The Research Specialist will be recruiting, screening, and assessing families; tracking families through various stages of the study; entering and managing data and PHI; assisting with IRB applications, NIH progress reports, and data audits; and potentially providing psychological interventions to families in their homes (this latter activity would only be undertaken by employees that have significant direct clinical experience).
This position is grant funded.
Responsibilities:
- Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).
- Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociology or related research field.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.
- Familiarity with computers and common software packages required.
- Working knowledge of research methodology strongly preferred.

- Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)
- Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal
- Act 33 with renewal
- Act 34 with renewal
- Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
