Assistant at Sugar Creek Station you will provide quality medical and physical
care and comfort and assure overall safety of assigned residents in accordance
with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and
regulations.
BONUS! Anyone hired who has a Current Pennsylvania C.N.A certification, will
receive a $1,500.00 sign on bonus, upon signing a one year employment agreement
with UPMC. Details on the bonus would be given at the time of an offer, if
chosen.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine resident care
duties, i.e., weighing and measuring residents, taking and recording blood
pressures and temperatures, collecting specimens and observing and report
residents' conditions.
- Perform restorative nursing
functions such as assisting residents with individualized ambulation,
feeding and bowel and bladder training programs, etc.; and record such in
charts.
- Perform daily documentation of
intake/output, restraint reduction programs and other required
documentation.
- Bath and dress residents.
- Assists in feeding residents as
required.
- Observe and report any changes
in resident's condition to Charge Nurse and records in chart as required.
- Serve food trays to residents;
fill water pitchers and distribute to residents scheduled to receive them.
- Exhibit a spirit of flexibility
and cooperation and has a pleasant, friendly and compassionate
personality, treating both residents and coworkers with dignity and
respect.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge
of current federal, state and local regulations and internal policies and
procedures as they pertain to resident care and rights.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
required.
- Working experience as aide in
hospital or nursing home preferred.
- Good communication and
interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and ability to
operate medical equipment, utilizing all safety procedures.
- Willingness to learn federal,
state and local nursing home regulations as they relate to medical personnel
and care of residents.
- Willingness to learn infection
control and standard precautions and the ability to apply same to
essential job functions.
- Successfully complete on the
job orientation/training program.
Licensure/Certifications:
- Current PA Certified Nursing
Assistant (CNA) certification required
- Older Adult Protective
Services Act
- Act 34 Criminal
Clearance
- CPR within 30 days of
beginning employment
Salary Range:
$12.39
to
$17.13
