UPMC Kane is seeking a full-time Director for its Kane Community Hospital Foundation.

This unique role, closely tied to the mission of UPMC Kane to serve our patients and their families, our communities, and one another, will manage the operations of the hospital's charitable Foundation. This will include board and committee responsibilities and building relationships both within and outside of the hospital. As Director, you will promote integrity and credibility of the Foundation to accomplish the mission of the hospital and Foundation, and support UPMC Kane and achieve the goals set forth and approved by the Foundation board.

  • Solicit, review and recommend grant requests from the hospital to the foundation board 
  • Promote community awareness of the foundation and its projects through the use of media (Newspapers, ratio, public speaking engagements, website, etc.) 
  • Service as the foundation's spokesperson in public forums, interviews, etc. 
  • Direct and coordinate with the hospital administration fund raising activities specified by the foundation board. 
  • Oversee the preparation of audited financial statements and form 990. 
  • Direct the day to day financial operations of the foundation (receipts, deposits, accounts payable) 
  • Work with various foundation board committees and chairs as needed. 
  • Prepare an annual foundation budget for review and approval by the board 
  • Develop and use a regular reporting/communication process to report progress on the foundations and executive director's goals and objectives to the board 
  • Supervise and evaluate staff if any 
  • Lead and coordinate the annual foundation meeting 


  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • 3-5 years' experience as director or related leadership position 
  • Must be able to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and external contacts
