UPMC is looking for security/law enforcement professionals to help support our mission of Quality & Safety for patients, visitors, and fellow employees.  Our Sherwood Oaks facility is currently recruiting for a Part-Time Patrol Person. 

This Patrol Person is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment for Sherwood Oaks residents, staff and visitors to the property. They will also provide transportation for residents according to facility policies.


  • Assist with 24-hour coverage of the gatehouse each day, periodically monitors the lake for potential hazards.
  • Attend all mandatory in-service education programs.
  • Complete rounds according to the schedule for each shift, securing exits, checking lighting, inspecting exteriors around all buildings and inside laundry rooms and surveying the interior of the center.
  • Is alert for irregularities, implements emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Participate in meetings as directed by the Director of Security.
  • Provide access to facilities by authorized residents and personnel.
  • Provide transportation to residents for recreation and medical needs.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.


  • High school diploma required.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Act 235
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Commercial Driver's License or Driver's License
  • Older Adult Protective Services Act
