UPMC Emergency Medicine serves as a recruitment and staffing resource for partner hospitals, provides continuing education opportunities to emergency health care providers, and runs a Prehospital Care Program that combines the educational resources of the University of Pittsburgh with the clinical expertise of UPMC.


UPMC Emergency Medicine has partnered with St. Clair Urgent Care, located in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, to hire an Urgent Care Physician.  The ideal candidate will be an Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OR Pediatric Board-Certified physician with urgent care experience.  The Physician hired will be a casual UPMC employee working alongside St. Clair Urgent Care employees on a casual basis. 


What would I be responsible for/expect in this position?

  • Take medical histories, examine patients, order diagnostic testing, interpret test results, make diagnoses and create treatment plan for patients of all ages
  • Physician must be able to evaluate a variety of acuity, think and act quickly to make a tentative diagnosis to create a treatment plan
  • Coordinate activities with other members of the health team in the administration of patient services
  • Refer patients to other medical areas of the hospital for further examination, diagnosis and treatment as medical condition may warrant
  • Perform minor surgical procedures including laceration repair, incision and drainage and foreign body removal
  • Perform splinting and casting for minor orthopedic injuries
  • Must document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in a timely manner
  • Conduct follow up calls to patients; handle incoming patient, pharmacy or physician calls
  • Operate as a team alongside physician assistants, medical assistants, radiology technologists, clerical staff and management
  • Adhere to all clinical policies and protocols

  • Hours:  9am – 9pm
  • Location: conveniently located in the St. Clair Hospital Outpatient Center at the corner of Fort Couch Rd. and Oxford Dr. in Bethel Park, across from South Hills Village and St. Thomas More Church.  2000 Oxford Drive, Suite 100, Bethel Park, PA 15102


What would qualify me for the position?

  • Graduate of accredited medical school
  • MD/DO Licensure required
  • Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Pediatric Board Eligible/Board Certified
  • Urgent Care experience preferred
  • Licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania
