Description

The Employee Transit Department at UPMC is growing and has a training opportunity for individuals interested in obtaining their CDL with P Endoresement. This is a wonderful opportunity to attend in-house training to learn the skills needed to take the State Department of Transportations Commercial Drivers License (CDL) exam in order to successfully perform the duties of a Shuttle Bus Operator position. Participates in all training activities provided by the department. Responsibilities: 
  • Develop and foster a strong working relationship with all riders and co-workers. 
  • Provide the highest level of customer service to all passengers. 
  • Demonstrate safe working and driving actions. 
  • Complies with all UPMC Employee Transit policies and procedures. 
  • Fuel vehicle according to company policy. 
  • Learns D.O.T. compliance requirements and how to remain compliant with all regulations and guidelines established by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA), Driver License, Medical Card, Motor Vehicle Resource (MVR). 
  • Learns to maintain ridership information and report per company processes and maintain route standards and only stray from designated route with permission of management or law enforcement. 
  • Participates actively in maintaining cleanliness standards in bus's and UPMC facilities. 

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate/GED required.
  • Strong customer service background. 
  • Ability to manage change in a busy environment required. 
  • Good driving record required.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: 
  • Commercial Driver's License Class B with Passenger Endorsement required within 6 months of hire. 
  • Department Of Transportation Medical Card Clearance
