The UPMC Community Medicine team is currently hiring for a regular Full-Time Licensed Practical Nurse, OP to help support the Health First Medical Associates office. This is a busy, fast paced, and high volume Internal Medicine office located in McKeesport, PA. 

This position will work a normal daylight schedule Monday through Friday (M, T, TH - 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM & W, F - 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM). This position may travel to the other office location in Whiteoak, PA as needed.

The incumbent will provide professional nursing care to office patients under supervision of patient care providers.

  • Rooming patients, EKG's, no blood draws, high volume of patient calls to include nursing homes & personal care 
  • Administer medications including oral, SQ, IM and IV drip.
  • Assess patient's general condition and take vital signs and weight.
  • Assist physicians with examinations, diagnostic procedures and treatments.
  • Comply with all policies and procedures.
  • Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
  • Document all activities/interventions, patient/family responses, medication dispensed/prescribed, etc., in the medical record.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
  • Perform IV therapy under direction of Registered Nurse.
  • Promote wellness by providing patient education materials, communicating physician advice/instructions.


  • Graduate of an approved LPN school of nursing. 
  • One year (1) clinical experience preferred.
  • Outpatient experience preferred
  • Epicare experience preferred
  • EMR/Triage experience preferred
  • Rooming patients in a fast paced environment

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Licensed Practical Nurse
