The Campaign Manager, Translation reports to the Senior Director, Government Segment Marketing. The Campaign Manager is directly responsible for participating in the development of ethnic marketing strategies as well as coordinating the translation and transcreation processes required to produce multilingual documentation, advertising, websites and other marketing materials for all UPMC Health Plan products (CHIP, Medical Assistance, Medicare, SNP, MLTSS, Individual Exchange and Commercial).

  • Competitor tracking of multi-lingual/translated materials.
  • Ensure compliance with strict translation quality control procedures and QA checklists
  • Ensuring proper resources are available (i.e. hiring, training and managing) Developing/maintaining department policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and compensation levels to ensure effective use of resources. Manage, educate, train and career development of direct reports.
  • Follow up with client post-project to determine clients level of satisfaction and future needs
  • Maintain records of expenses and approve payment for suppliers. Review and approve supplier invoices
  • Manage relationships with external translation vendor(s)
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director, Government Segment Marketing.
  • Participate in the development of ethnic marketing strategies and campaigns for all UPMC Health Plan product lines.
  • Schedule and manage several translation projects (of varied complexity) simultaneously; Coordinate the translation and transcreation required to produce multilingual documentation, web sites and other marketing materials
  • Track milestones and/or percent complete and inform accounting as these levels are attained so client invoices can be sent in a timely manner; attend internal staff meetings to discuss various aspects of current or future projects


  • Bachelor Degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish candidate required.
  • Minimum four years experience with the translation and transcreation of marketing materials required.
  • Minimum two years project management experience required.
  • Knowledge of health insurance products preferred. 
  • Knowledge of government insurance plans preferred.
  • Ability to interpret CMS guidelines, state contractual guidelines, marketing instructions, marketing reports and analyses to take appropriate actions and make problem solving decisions pertaining to translation.
  • Demonstrated success in external vendor management.
  • Ability to propose and implement creative solutions and analytic approaches to problem situations.
  • Will need to manage multiple tasks and projects and forge key relationships with key internal and external people.
  • Attention to detail is critical to the success of this position, along with the ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to re-engineer processes to positively impact productivity in terms of timeliness and accuracy.
