Under the direction of a qualified RPVI certified Medical Director, performs a variety of ultrasound exams and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Assist in the training of students
  • Assists in performing first aid as necessary.Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination.
  • Complies with established occupational BBF and TB exposure policies. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness including provisions for the contamination-free condition of rooms, equipment and personnel. Secures and returns supplies.
  • Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the Department. Maintains ethical relationships.
  • Do on-call coverage for any time period when there is no one working in the department
  • Is responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures. In the absence of the supervisor, may be designated as acting supervisor.
  • Performs ultrasound examinations using ICAVL standards and guidelines.
  • Provides immobilizing devices as required.
  • Selects and operates equipment as directed. Move machine to do portable exams Use of PACS. Use of Radiology Information System.
  • Supports department and hospital based CPI activities by actively participating in the CPI process.


A.Education and Formal Training Required: Must be ARDMS registered with Vascular credential (RVT), or Board Eligible and certified within 2 years of hire. Bachelor of Science degree or Vascular Ultrasound Specialty degree from an approved higher education source. B.Experience Required: Preferred C.Specific abilities: D.Must be: 1.Discreet in the use and divulgence of confidential information. 2.Understanding, patient, courteous and tactful in handling patients, visitors and the public. 3.Able to follow written and verbal instructions. 4.Able to use a telephone effectively and receive or transmit messages clearly and accurately. 5.Able to adapt self to various conditions and personalities encountered in the work.

Preference:  Ability to perform upper/lower extremity arterial/venous exams; carotid Doppler exam; adnominal vascular exams

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Basic Life Support or Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Registered Vascular Technologist or Registered Vascular Technologist
