Description

The Research Specialist will be completing research assessment interviews for two NIMH funded research projects with adolescents and young adults with bipolar disorder. The assessment interviews will involve the collection of detailed psychiatric symptom information, compiling this information and presenting the case to one of the project investigators for diagnostic confirmation. Clinical experience, knowledge of psychopathology, assessment skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail are important qualifications.

This position is grant funded.

Purpose:

Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s). Collect and gather research data for research project.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with senior research personnel regarding recruitment, data collection, outcomes of interviews, reports according to the needs of the study.
  • Independently execute job functions for research protocol(s) including recruitment, scheduling appointments, obtaining written consent forms, collecting data by conducting phone or face to face interviews for research project(s).

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required, preferably in psychology, neuroscience, sociology or related research field.  
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in a research project and/or related clinical setting is required.  
Preferred:
  • Psychiatric/mental health clinical assessment experience, preferably with adolescents
  • Working knowledge of DSM
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CCM training is required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter

  • Act 33 Child Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 34 Criminal Clearance with Renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management
