UPMC Corporate Supply Chain seeks a full-time Director of Materials Management to be based at our South Side Distribution Center located in Pittsburgh.

As Director of Materials Management, you will provide strategic direction, guidance and accountability for the management of global storage and distribution of materials across the UPMC enterprise and affiliates.  You will work to standardize processes and techniques for ordering to maintain synergies between UPMC facilities and the Consolidate Logistics Center.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the overall standardized distribution and logistics strategy across internal and third party providers.
  • Develop and implement programs to improve production quality and efficiency.
  • Develop and monitor operating and capital budgets.
  • Direct a team of managers and employees in multiple business units/hospitals.
  • Direct the activities of enterprise facilities running three shifts 24/7, including proper space utilization, equipment, and manpower.
  • Ensure training and compliance with State and Federal regulations for OSHA, JACHO and the DOH.
  • Establish long term production goals and monitor performance to achieve these goals.
  • Manage the development, monitoring, and benchmarking of key supply chain performance indicators, and use these indicators in operational decisions. Provide monthly activity and benchmarking reports as required.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and employ feedback when considering operational changes.
  • Work closely with other supply chain directors and managers and staff to ensure satisfaction of the needs of users.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or Supply Chain Management required
  • Masters or JD preferred.
  • 5 years materials management experience is required.
  • Prior leadership / personnel management experience required.
  • Previous leadership of large teams encompassing 100 or more staff is highly preferred
  • Previous leadership of staff across multiple locations preferred
  • Previous logistics background preferred
  • Proven track record of success preferred
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  • Professional certifications (CPM, APICS) preferred.
