UPMC Health Plan is seeking a Manager- Vendor Contract & Relations to support their Dental and Vision Ancillary Team!


The Manager, Vendor Contract & Relations will be responsible for assisting with the management, oversight and administration of all health insurance vendor contractual relationships . Primary responsibilities include overseeing analysts responsible for all aspects on contract administration, financial reconciliation, reporting, contract compliance and performance. Additional responsibilities include contract administration, compliance, reporting and financial performance of contracted vendors. Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior management. Leads staff in contributing to corporate short-term and long-term strategic initiatives


Travel may be required (limited basis) – client meetings


  • Lead and conduct complex studies to determine vendor performance and recommend changes to existing Vendor relationships or new vendor contract opportunities, both language and financial terms.
  • Manage all Vendor benefit implementations.
  • Manage all Vendor related internal projects and initiatives.
  • Manage all updating and creation of all Vendor Contract & Relations policies and Procedures.
  • Manage and encourage Business Analyst or staff to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Provide oversight to staff and assist with planning, development and assigning projects to other staff members.
  • Manage and lead staff members in vendor contract administration relations.
  • Manage contractual arrangements for compliance, analyze data to project claims and administrative cost.
  • Manage the complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of Vendor activities for payment accuracy and compliance; research and respond to internal UPMC entities questions or issues related to Insurance Company practices or payments.
  • Manage the preparation & interpretation of all operational vendor activity reports in order for users to make accurate economic or business decisions.
  • Specify personnel accountabilities and evaluate performance regularly.


  • B.S. degree in Finance, Business, Health Care Management or related field is required.
  • Five (5) years of work related experience.
  • Strong leadership skills and independent decision making ability.

Salary Range: $30.89 to $52.76
