STAT MedEvac is currently hiring for a Regional Medical Manager (Paramedic or RN) to support the Administration and Regional Flight Crew group.  This position will work a variable schedule and have a home base location meeting candidate and STAT business needs.

In coordination with the Director of Medical Operations, the Regional Medical Manager will coordinate and oversee daily operations of an assigned region, transport asset(s), and personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and expedient service. The Regional Medical Manager will interact with management, medical crews, pilots, mechanics, hospital representatives, and other emergency service agencies; facilitating regional operations; system standardization, budget, record keeping, data entry, and data collection; and ensuring that 24-hour staffing is maintained. 

During routine operations, the Regional Manager is expected to function as a flight nurse or flight paramedic and to adhere to the responsibilities of that position at a 0.6 minimum FTE commitment. This time may be adjusted based on a given project with administrative approval. 

All responsibilities shall be carried out with a positive customer service approach, and the Regional manager will support and uphold the mission, goals, and objectives, of the STAT MedEvac system.

  • Budget Analysis/Compliance: Review and reconcile payroll, expense reports, and other supply chain needs for accuracy and fiscal responsibility toward budget goals. Analyze and oversee base site capital needs and/or improvements. Complete budgetary compliance and operations reports as assigned.
  • Business Relations and Development: Initiates or assists in marketing efforts to expand and retain market share. Collaborating effectively with BRD managers and staff; coordinating efforts through reporting and planning.
  • Employee Health: Ensure compliance of all required CAMTS and human resources requirements. Director of Medical Operations will work with UPMC HR, Medical Director and designated Regional Medical Manager to manage employee health program.
  • Equipment and Supplies: Ensure all regional bases of operation have adequate equipment and supplies. Evaluate new and innovative technologies for relevant program application and report opportunities to leadership. Coordinate with designated Regional Medical Manager to oversee and coordinate the purchase, storage, and distribution, of necessary equipment, supplies, and uniforms to ensure medical operations are conducted safely and efficiently. Additionally, a designated Regional Medical Manager will ensure compliance with biomedical services standards, recordkeeping, and updates.
  • Patient Safety and Quality of Care: Active participant in the quality improvement process, ensuring peer review is professional, pertinent, and timely. Assists with root cause analysis of patient safety and quality of care incidents, and is an active participant in clinical oversight within the assigned region.
  • Regulatory: Maintain a working knowledge of regional licensure. Coordinate with Director of Medical Operations and designated Regional Medical Manager to ensure all relevant licensure requirements are maintained.
  • Scheduling and System Readiness: Ensure fiscally responsible staffing throughout the assigned region by completing the schedule; working to minimize overtime and travel costs. Assumes responsibility for continuous regional staffing, managing call off and other staffing issues to help ensure maximum up-time is achieved.
  • Staff Development: Provide clinical leadership in the assigned region and program-wide, assisting with staff education as needed; including coaching/mentoring new employees.
  • System Standardization: Works to ensure system standardization across the program, and within the assigned region of equipment, supplies, response readiness, and policy/procedures.


  • Baccalaureate degree in any field is preferred. 
  • Minimum three (3) years experience as a flight crew member with strong interpersonal communication skills, professional appearance and manner, excellent computer proficiency, and with demonstrated superior organizational skills. 
  • Prior management experience is preferred.  
    • The ability to manage people with excellent skills in interpersonal conflict resolution is required. 
  • Must have a willingness to support management decisions and assist with implementation of program goals and objectives.  
    • In addition must have demonstrated superior clinical skills and judgment, with the ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities, and specialized equipment. 
  •  Must adhere to the current height and weight standards at all times.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Required: All licenses and certifications required for the assigned region and clinical position. Current CFRN or FP-C Certification (based upon clinical license level) Act 33/34 required within 90 days of hire. Preferred: Certified Medical Transport Executive (CMTE)
